This project aimed to design a smart refrigerator user interface centered around simplicity and everyday functionality. With an increasing number of appliances becoming tech-integrated, the challenge was to avoid visual clutter and create an intuitive layout that streamlines the user’s experience for all ages. The goal was to provide quick access to essential functions like temperature control, food inventory, photos, and reminders while maintaining a clean, modern design.

The Why
I approached the interface with a minimalist mindset, focusing on visual hierarchy and user flow. By limiting distractions and prioritizing the most-used features, the UI allows users to interact with their appliance effortlessly. I utilized soft neutrals and subtle animations to create a calm, non-intrusive feel, mirroring the refrigerator’s role as a background essential in a home. Interactive elements are large, clearly labeled, and responsive, designed to work just as smoothly with a quick tap. This design was about making smart tech accessible and unobtrusive, enhancing function without adding complexity.
