For this project, the objective was to design a user-friendly and innovative digital interface for Polestar, a forward-thinking electric car company. I aimed to bring a sense of refined simplicity and modern class to the vehicle’s layout—crafting a sleek, elegant design that complements Polestar’s futuristic identity. The primary focus was on developing a visually captivating and functional driver Heads-Up Display (HUD), followed by translating that same design philosophy to the larger center console. This required thoughtful decisions about visual hierarchy, prioritizing essential features, and delivering a seamless user experience.

The Why

Polestar’s design language inspired me to challenge conventional UI norms and explore how minimalist design can enhance clarity and focus. My goal was to maintain an elevated aesthetic while ensuring intuitive usability. Working within constraints like space, legibility, and driver attention, I leaned into clean typography, high-contrast layouts, and subtle animations to bring the interface to life. Translating the sleek visual approach from the HUD to the central touchscreen display pushed me to rethink how users interact with key features—ultimately refining the balance between beauty and functionality.
