Mt Rubidoux Annual Firework Show

Project

As part of the CAVAD Marketing Team at California Baptist University, I had the opportunity to partner with the County of Riverside on the 61st Annual Mount Rubidoux Firework Show—an iconic 4th of July celebration that unites the local community. Our team was responsible for both event planning and developing the full visual identity and collateral for the event. From promotional materials to on-site signage, the goal was to create a cohesive visual system that felt festive, patriotic, and timeless, while bringing a fresh and engaging energy to a long-standing Riverside tradition.

The Why

I approached the design by blending classic American color themes with clean, modern typography. The collateral included everything from flyers, billboards, and gazebo wraps to directional signage, staff credentials, and event merchandise—all unified through a custom blue-and-white palette and a visual language inspired by fireworks, stars, and the silhouette of Mount Rubidoux itself. As part of the event planning team, I also helped coordinate logistics, print production, and rollout timelines in close collaboration with county officials. This project was a unique blend of tradition and innovation—honoring the history of the event while elevating its visual impact for today’s audience.
